David "I think that would be great." "I'll join your group of well... three."David smiled. A thought popped into Davids head quickly. "Woah I forgot about the treasure!" David ran over to the side where the Devils ship was. He pointed to it. "The Devil has loads in there."

“Now, Mr. Rimald, I’m surprised you would join us so easily!” Maxwell raised his eyebrow. “We’ll pick up the treasure over the next few days, I think. You all want a break after today, don’t you? How about we anchor for a while, while the next plans are made? I also have to handle these new comers.” he scanned over the crew and they agreed. “Ian, you and Mrs. Riley come over here! You too, David, and Ellie.” “What about Ander? Aren’t we getting ready to have a meeting?” Ellie looked at him in question. “Oh, yes, Ander…” he huffed. “Ander! You need to come for the meeting!” she yelled over to the Iver. “Oh, can’t forget the mages either! That would be Alister, Zachary, and uh…” “Luther.” Luther eyed Maxwell. “Sarah, why don’t you bring some wine to the study, if you’re well enough.” Maxwell pointed at a crew woman. “Oh, yes, Sir. I…didn’t really fight, so, I’m fine.” she did a curtsey and rubbed the back of her head. “Well, you know who you are if you need to come with me. There are lots of things to discuss, so hurry up! I want to get this over with and make things normal again.” Maxwell referred to Ian’s returning. “Maxwell, I’ll go get Ander and Lloyd.” Ellie nodded at him as he went for the cabin. “Oh, gee! Yes, I want them to say what had them fighting, although, I have a feeling I know what it was…” he twirled around for a moment. “I’ll be in the study. Everyone else…relax!” he ordered out, and the crowd. He went to leave again when…“OH! Wait! The new guys!” Maxwell stopped in his tracks a second time. “My, my…” he rubbed his chin and looked at the pile of captives. “How well can we trust you all to accept defeat?”
((Lucky, it was your ship, so do you want to play the captives, or do you want me to, or should we both deal with them?))

Renegade crew members He blinked as the captain walked toward them his gray hair resembling a shark. All the crew members looked at each other. If we accepted defeat what would become of us? What would happen if we didn't? The thoughts whirled in all of their heads. Suddenly a young avian woman spoke up. "What will you do with us?" She glared at the captain with a questioning expression.

“You’ll be like all of those lucky people.” The captain pointed and grinned. “We’ll train you, and you’ll get to do everything that they are allowed.” And then he paced. “So, what do you say?” the shivering, orange eyes of a young merman caught his. He wondered how old he must have been. He appeared, maybe, even still be a boy. “Mr. Evans! I never thought I’d come this close to you!” he burst out. “I never thought I’d see you! Sir! Sir…I’ll join you! I want to be your apprentice!” “How old are you?” Maxwell was surprised. “The same age you were when you were forced to leave your home…” “Why are you so fascinated with me? What were you doing with a group like Kevin’s if you are the way you are to me now?” “Kevin just…he just knew how it felt to be abandoned, so his offer was catching. I knew about you, but I didn’t know how to reach you. Kevin came to me and I didn’t know what else to do…” “What country are you even from?” “Aevarkest, Sir…just like you!” “Oh, my-.” Maxwell shook his head. “How are you feeling? I see you want to join, but what about all of you? I’m still waiting for an answer.” He leaned over to cut the golden captive’s ties. The boy flopped onto his hind end and gasped. “I’m tired, Sir…” he shook. “I don’t know what I was doing…” his wispy hair stuck to the gooey cuts on his forehead. Blood spilled from the corners of his lips. “Which of my members brought you down?” “I’m not sure, Sir. I only remember looking up and seeing you above me in the water, and then I was tied down with those metal weights you made…And I just watched you. I can’t believe this...” “You really go cut up, Kid. Hey, who was under water? I just want…er, I’m just curious.” Maxwell bit the inside of his mouth. Some crewmember (mostly merpeople) raised their hands. “Any of them look familiar.” “Not enough, Sir…” “You have a fabulous big gash on your back. You aren’t going to bleed out, are you?” “No-…” The young man blinked. “That’s tough!” Maxwell smiled down at him. “I’ll learn more about your story later, but for now, uh, who wants to patch him up? This kid’s innocent enough!” and he searched the crowd again for a healer. “Hmph…” air flew from Luther’s nose. The yellow glow returned from his pocket, and the wounds on the boy began to sparkle. In an instant they had dried over, like they had never existed. “How about that! I think that’s the quickest I’ve ever seen, Luther!” Maxwell clapped. “Say, yeah! That will something else you can get, if you join us! You’ll be healed!” he was beside himself. “Luther, you seem to be carrying around a lot of stones at once. I’ve go something that cou-…” Alister tried to pull the new mage aside for a moment, but he was stopped. “I know about you, Alister.” Luther snapped his head over and showed him a crooked smile. “We’ll discuss that when we meet in the study, mhmph.” And he pulled the hood of his cloak in tighter. For some reason he kept his eyes in a constant shadow.

David David had come back to the group and was watching the merman make a foul of himself in front of Maxwell. David brushed the thought off. It was natural to like Maxwell he was a strong guy. A depressing feeling still clung to David though. Something about that mage wasn't quite right. He could hear a femine voice whisper in his ear warding him away from him. The voice never spoke but still urged him away. The crew members began slowly admitting defeat and then only a few loyal men were left. What was Maxwell going to do with them? David had managed to scoot to the opposite side of the group from Luther. David sighed silently as his nerves began to cool.

“Three of you, huh?” Maxwell stared down two avians and a single merman who had not given in from Kevin’s side. “Well, you can’t leave. If that’s what you think you’ll get to do.” He smirked. “But, we don’t have a brig, and I don’t want to have to make anyone look after you now…” he sighed. “Are you all feeling hungry? We might feed you if you really need food, but I don’t know. Yeah, all right, someone just decide who wants to watch after these few, and everyone else, gee, let’s get some rest! It’s break time, for goodness sakes! We just had a battle!” walking away from them he clapped again. “Maxwell, I have a brig…” Ander scuffled over. He had come back with Ellie’s convincing. “You, Brandy, you know what to do.” He pointed at a maroon haired woman who was one of his crewmembers. “Yes, Sir!” she picked the men up with some power from a wind stone. “Well, it’s your last chance!” Maxwell looked up at them with a wide grin. Ander was being quiet, and he liked that. “Ander, you are going to talk, aren’t you?” Ellie knew that something was bothering him, however, and she did not like that. “At the meeting. At the meeting…” he sighed. “Ellie, well…I’d rather it just be me and you when I speak about that. I don’t know if I trust Lloyd.” “I knew it…” Maxwell rolled his eyes. “Ander, you’ve known him for a day now…” Ellie’s face was blank. Just as oblivious, she was confused. “I said nothing, then!” Ander huffed and stared down at his feet. “Last chance, guys!” Maxwell repeated. “I’ll break you all in if I have to.” Ander mumbled to himself with some other thoughts. “I cam all this way…”

David The last few would not give in, David admired they're loyalty but thought it was pointless. Ander didn't look like the most hospitable person at the moment. Not that he ever did as a side factor.... David chuckled silently. The princess danced in his mind quickly. She sort of just disappeared. It was weird. He sighed quietly Well to bad she must have been happy in her kingdom. David's mind grew blank and steadfast quickly. The meeting was now after this little squabble. David had managed to learn plenty of tactics from the Altoran Navy, Marines, Air Force and Army. Plans strung around his mind as he waited to be lead to the study.

“Fine, then.” Maxwell was said it harshly. “David, you look a little lost.” But he turned to the human and winked. “Finally time for the meeting!” he sighed and left the deck. “My crew, you can do whatever you please, just, Brandy, brig them. Don’t feed them either. They don’t look like they are starving.” Ander crossed his arms. He followed close behind Ellie. Ian and Riley stuck with the mages, but Luther was the last to come. His teeth sparkled with some sort of joy. “You all go on. I’m going to get Lloyd. It’s been a few hours, so I’m sure he’s had enough of a nap to work of his sulking.” “He’s still not over anything, is he?” Ian looked to Ellie with sympathy. “No, I uh…” “It’s fine. I don’t want to trouble you.” He waved to her. Maxwell was the first to sit in the study. A lantern stone levitated from the center of the table and lit up the room. “David, why don’t you sit closest to me. I have a feeling you’ll be on this team all the time, considering your status.” He motioned to a near chair. “Here we are.” Ellie came in a moment later with Lloyd hovering around her shoulders. He wouldn’t let go. “After the two of you…” Luther bowed, and pulled out a chair for them across from Ian and Riley. Mr. Remington softly stared back in a gentle way before Luther scurried to his side. “We will give this some time…” the aggravated voice floated into his mind again, but he didn’t let it show. “Ian, you’re still cold…” Riley clung to him. “Not as long as you stay close.” He scooted into her arms and lost his attention on the other couple. “Hrmph…” Ander claimed the other spot next to Ellie that hadn’t been taken by Lloyd. That left him with his mage on the end, who was having a staring contest with his brother, Alister, across.

David David sat beside Maxwell quickly. The group seemed to be still settling in. David sat back in his chair casually thinking everything over. His mind whirling with excitement. The whole reason he said yes to joining so quickly was for the excitement, plus he really had no where else to go... David snickered in his head plus he'll be out of the queens reach if he's on the move. Curiosity pricked at David. He wondered how Maxwell ran these meetings, was it formal or informal, loud or quite?

“Oh, look! Sarah has the wine all ready!” Maxwell laughed at the glass in front of his face. Sarah must have prepared the drinks just a while ago. “Mmm, I suppose we can make this sort of official again, now that Ian is back!” he smiled and took a sip. “Welcome back, Young Friend! Taylor, you really are a miracle!” Mr. Evans was ecstatic. “Why don’t you and Luther tell us what’s on your end of the story?” “Oh-…” Ian was surprised. Ellie had still picked up on a difference with him. She decided to tap into the aura stone around her neck, and the signs flashed personally in her eyes. He was worried? Why? His pale glow was growing. Then she thought. It wasn’t right of her to be so nosey. It was just wonderful that everyone had their friend back. She dismissed the stone’s power, but noticed Luther licking his lips. “If you’re thirsty there’s plenty of wine for everyone.” She sent him a little whisper. He flailed his tongue again, shook his head “no”, and was quick to keep his eye to Maxwell, or maybe the back of Ian’s head. “Oh, uh-, uh…” Ian stammered. “Goodness, it was difficult for me to heal from the wounds. Well, you see how long it took for me to reach all of you, but it’s all thanks to Luther that I’m still here. He doesn’t even request pay. He says it’s all for…the study and passion. Luther, you are a kind man. Why don’t we have a toast?” his laughter turned nervous. “Fair enough, but may I add to that and make it for the new group?” Maxwell held up his glass with cheery eyes. “I support that! Luther, you’ll have to teach me some things!” Alister teased. “David, go on. Try the wine! I swiped it from some old grouches a few weeks ago! Sparkling sea grape! Even one hundred years old!” Maxwell poked the human. “It is wonderful…” Lloyd nodded. He had a well taste for such things. “Oh, we’ll be talking about that black eye, too, while we’re here.” Maxwell winked discretely at him. “And I suppose Ander can tell us more about his new beginnings, and we’ll be picking at you two, Mr. David. Why be friends if you don’t know each other?”

David David laughed a little at Maxwell. "I agree", David smiled. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table. "I think we should all get to know each other." David glanced at Luther. "Honestly I'm interested in what happened to you Ian" His gaze met the young mans. "You know since I wasn't really around." David's tone turned a little lighter. David laided back into his chair. Ian's eyes were faded roughly. Something unnatural about it. David took a sip of his wine to please Maxwell. Its taste went over well. The bubbles danced on David's tongue. "Nice wine by the way Captain great choice." David poked Maxwell back.

The toast was held and Maxwell went straight back to the chat. “So, more details, Ian?” he encouraged. “Listen to me…” the voice rang to Ian. “Oh, well…” “Ian, I want to hear. I want to know what happened.” Riley rubbed he head on his shoulder. “Yes, I suppose I shall start with it like a story.” He sighed and patted her arm. “David, Ander, Zachary, you all do not know the battle I was lost-…er, well separated within. Or, maybe you have heard of it. Two years ago, about, this Xindor crew and my own had teamed up on just a casual adventure. But we were caught up in the battle of Everdin, just outside the northeast providence of Merlaerdin. We hadn’t realized that it would occur. It was almost as if we were ambushed ourselves, and we had done nothing wrong but to be together. We all know how awful the pit is between Aevarkest and Merlaerdin. The people detest each other for the most unholy, unnecessary reasons. Luther here couldn’t even handle his home. Ander, I’m not sure if you had met him, but he is from your home, Merlaerdin. He didn’t like the tension, but where was I…” he was looking down at his tail. The calmness of the room hade let him transform and relax. “Oh, I remember being lost in the chaos. We were targeted as anarchists, and so we saw no mercy. Riley, you remember…” “I do…” they had tears in their eyes. “It was an avian. Some woman, or man, I don’t remember, but I had been taken from my ship. While our teams tried to escape, they went for Riley, but I made sure they took me. Ellie, I saw you holding so steady on the Xindor, protecting Lloyd, and no one could stop you. I felt so ashamed…” “Ian, you…couldn’t help it. Why were you ashamed?!” Ellie frowned. “I was powerless. I had failed only to be brought into the air, and I was forced to stare down at the ocean element…I…” he and Riley winced. “You thought you saw me die, but you all were so close to escaping. I told you to go, even if that meant leaving me. That person who had me in the air sent something burning down into my heart. I was sure it was my end, but no. No, it wasn’t.” he laughed at the impossibility. “It was a horrible site that I woke up to. This is where you all had gone. The Xindor and the Ocio had gone… When that avian had dropped me back into the ocean I sank. And when I opened my eyes and could only hear my frantic heart, and I could only see the blood I just thought that maybe I was in hell…there were other bodies. It wasn’t just my blood, but their silhouettes were haunting me from the surface. And then I could look straight into the open gash on my chest. I hope none of you ever have to see something so gruesome, and yet, at the end of this battle, Luther came.” He stopped. “He made it through that terrible cloud in the water. I wasn’t sure how he could see through all of the red, and when I was sure my lungs would heave no more, another sort of burn started to fill my body. Luther looked into my eyes, and I could only see him hovering in the distance, but he was beginning to heal me. He took me away from that scene, and since what I had received was so extensive, so was his process, but he was so successful…Yes, that’s really it. He fixed me up over the time that you lost me, and I found my old crew friends and gathered them again. Riley I missed, but I was so glad you were safe with my friends here. There was no reason I couldn’t come to you, and so…” he sniffled, and smiled where he hugged the woman. “It is so wonderful to see you, Ian.” Lloyd nodded and wiped a silent tear from his eye. “Good to see you, Lloyd. You must cheer up for me.” Ian leaned over to shake his hand. “Yes, my life is better every day now, with Ellie, and now you and Riley are together again and it’s…what a wonderful blessing.”“ Yes, very touching.” Maxwell nodded respectfully. The others where smiling, and there was a moment of silence. “This is all wonderful…and, what of David’s story? We can save Anders for last.” He smirked, which only Made Ander glare.

David David's eyes scanned Ian as his story went on. This is all wonderful…and, what of David’s story? David glanced at Maxwell. "Well it isn't interesting Ian's." David smiled attempting to lighten the gloomy mood. "I grew up in the northern Altoran provinces. Slavery is big in my country, the weak are thrown into it and the strong step all over them." David gulped a little and his eyes went hazy. "When I was ten, my mother was unable to pay for the house and we were thrown out into street. Many people say Altora has no poverty because they never see those in poverty." David sighed. "That's because all those on the street are made slaves." He sat a little bit and the room silent. " They took us the following night, they have a system for snuffing out the homeless. When they got us, they separated me from my mother. She stayed in the northern villages and I was taken to the southern capital. They sold me to a mason. The mason wasn't like most slave drivers. He ended up freeing me and calling me his first born. He passed down all of his skills to me, but he died when I was 18, due to a disease. Then I was enrolled into the military and severed for a number of things." David's eyes returned. "Then the queen attempted to marry me and I took off. This is actually the first time I've left the country." David settled back into the chair and took a sip of his wine again. "Well the whole ceremony for the gift of fire was fabulous recent, so I'm still learning." David looked to Maxwell with a playful grin. "Shall we hear Ander's story or Luther's?"

Luther smiled lightly at David. “I have no story of importance, other than that I am Luther the mage, and I am here now.” He tilted his head back at Ander. “So, you, Mr. Hallow, may speak.” “Hmph…” “Go, on, Ander.” Ellie grinned. “Don’t you have anything interesting to say?” “You all know my story, well, aside from my new path. That was it. My parents had given me the chance to abide, but I didn’t want to, and so about a year ago I swam off before I was removed. And now I am Ander Rook Hallow, the same, but Prince of Pirates, not Merlaerdin.” His teeth shined back at her. “I actually feel as if I have more power now.” And his glared turned to David. “Those people were lovely…lovely fools.” He snorted. “Those people?” Ellie looked at him with the question. “Yes, those people that were my followers. Not many of them would come because they were blind to the beauty of other sorts like yourself, Mrs. Ward. And it makes me wonder, such an adventurous person; how are you with such a man who goes back on the very word he still wishes to follow. Lloyd Oliver Kaethe still believes he belongs to Rimallo, but he has left, hasn’t he?” “Ander, what have I done wrong to you?” A pitiful frown covered Lloyd’s face, the sign that he felt as if he were being attacked. “What logic do you have that it is necessary to victimize me?…” he fell back into his chair. “Am I supposed to answer that? I wasn’t going to hurt Ellie, you know. I knew she could handler herself when I was working with that Devil’s ship! You victimized me!” “Mr. Hallow, I apologize for being so sudden, but you still could have made a mistake. It had me afraid and I…I’m not always so good about controlling myself. Haven’t you heard?” Lloyd trembled. “I’m a terrible person!” “Lloyd, don’t say that! You two stop! You should be getting along as the same kind! We should all be friends! Ander, Lloyd, you haven’t known each other but for a day!” Ellie tried to cut in. “All I see here is a man with no sense to his own esteem, and a man who does not trust. It’s the same man!” Ander pointed at the other mer-prince with the low confidence. “Ander, please calm down.” Maxwell stood up, the prince that was not afraid, and gave him a stern nod. “If I may cut in…” Alister raised his hand. “Mr. Kaethe and Mr. Hallow, you both must be understanding. I saw what happened. Lloyd loves Ellie and has the right to be concerned. That was a harsh battle.” Ander cringed at the mage’s words. “But Lloyd must realize that Ander was only doing what he thought was best. It was the same for both of you. You only wanted what was best!” Alister smiled and clapped. “What a nice way to put it, Alister.” Ellie nodded. “Hmph! I suppose…” Ander huffed. In a pout he sat back down, and the cloud around Lloyd was only stagnate as he sighed. “Forgive me, Ander Rook.” His apology was halfheartedly accepted, out of politeness. Ander was sure he would throw out his forgiveness soon. “So, do we have any other, happier stories?” Maxwell snickered and sat back down. “But, Ander, you do know what Ellie and Lloyd went through, right?” “Yes, Mr. Evans, I was aware that the Rimallian prince had ventured too far from his home. It was big news…” he grumbled and sighed. “You see, he must have had some sort of desire for adventure.” Maxwell winked. “Now! Why don’t we have more chat, or maybe begin planning? Perhaps tomorrow will be a day of rest, and then we shall take our share of the Renegade remains!”

David Luther's stone cold eyes glared at David. David thought it was absurd that he just brush off the story. Ander ranted and glared at David probably sending a warning message that was ultimately going to be ignored. Ander began to target the other prince, Lloyd was his name. Lloyd had something horrible happen to him and was scared forever. Maxwell finally had to calm both the merprinces. David's thoughts wrapped around the princess again. What had happened to her? Maybe he should bring it up, after all they really had no idea if she had made it back or not. He should wait till after the meeting. since it was his first one he should go off and suggest things like an old friend. The room was calm once again and David pulled at his fingers in thought. As long as they stayed away from the Altoran coast David was really fine with any plan. They still had to salvage the renegade and rest, that would take some time. Something kept picking at him although, it was something about Luther, maybe it was his reluctance to tell of his past, or his creepiness, something was just not right about him. "Sounds good Maxwell", David said thoughtfully. "We can salvage the renegade and plan out next adventure."David nodded agreeing with Maxwell's plan. The boat rocked gently as the tide changed. The moon was rising. The windows grew dim as the light faded from the outside. the room grew dark with an eerie feel. David glanced at Luther and glanced away before anyone realized. Something was weird. a shadow casted over the ship giving the silhouette of a ship in the setting sun. "There's a ship outside." David said quietly.
Outside the Xindor... A small sail boat floats through the mist. A woman with cold white eyes sits lightly on a chair. The souls of dead seamen float in the air around her. The mist clings to her skin as if it were coming from her. The sun slips away and light disappears. Daemons work the sails in silence as the young maiden sits quietly. Her angelic side prevailing for now. Her eye stare straight ahead as she looks into the bottom less night. a tune moans around the area from the dark cherry boat: bum bumm, pubmmm bum bumm, pudummm dada da dat Her hair rests lightly as a hood frames her delicate face. A beauty that would shatter most men's hearts. A dark luminescent ring sits on her hand and hums softly with the tune. Her scarlet robe hands on her perfect curves as she sails on into the wreckage of the renegade. She casts her ring-less hand up and a small wand appears out of the dark mist she waves it once and souls begin to rise from the wreckage, they are seen only by those of truly pure hearts. Those that are of prophecy, those who are part of the dark arts also are able to see the pour souls as they are harvested. the woman opens a small bottle and sucks them in one by one until there are only four left. They speed toward another ship, the Xindor and hide from her, but they would not get away.
